As a result of bills passed by the 85th Texas Legislature, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) subject-area tests will no longer be administered. An amendment to the Texas Administrative Code gives former students whose assessment graduation requirement is the TAKS additional paths toward meeting graduation requirements and earning a high school diploma. The TAKS tests, offered in March, June, and October, have been removed from the calendars.
