At GISD, the primary focus for the social studies curriculum is to ensure that all students acquire a sense of history and geography, an understanding of government , economics and democratic values, and that they become thoughtful observers and wise decision-makers based on their deep understanding of history and society. In Georgetown, the students are actively engaged in the acquiring of essential social studies knowledge and skills.
