templates year-round training to support teachers who are interested in
web publishing. Sign up for a class or contact your
campus technology facilitator for additional information.

two different tools for web publishing: FrontPage and SiteBuilder.

Integrate web publishing into the classroom! Several GISD
teachers have developed integrated lessons with FrontPage. Visit the

Getting Recognized
GISD has
implemented a
Classroom Web
Award program to recognize outstanding teacher web sites.
Nominations are made by campus technology facilitators in the spring semester each year. The
web site must meet all of the following criteria:

Overall design and navigation must be consistent and easy to
use
-
Content must be professional and appropriate to educational
objectives & GISD web publishing policy
-
Must be updated at least once every nine weeks
-
Must be created and maintained by the teacher or staff member
-
Examples of class/program work and projects
-
Current assignments, handouts, lesson plans, grading criteria,
and/or 9-week course outlines
Staff members receive recognition on the district web site, a
certificate, an award graphic for their web site, and be eligible for the
elementary, middle school/high school, and program web site of the year award.
