I am a passionate, dedicated educator who believes in learning for all. My journey to Texas began in a small farm community in Illinois, where I was born and raised. I was highly active in my community through various organizations, including Girl Scouts, 4-H and FFA. I earned my Gold Award in Girl Scouting, which planted many of my leadership skills.
In the Fall of 1997 my dream of becoming an Astronaut changed and I followed a new path to Texas. I fell in love with the community of Georgetown and moved here in 2000. This has been home for my family ever since.
While working full-time as an officer at Union State Bank, I also finished my Bachelor's Degree through Texas Sate at the Round Rock Center. I graduated in May 2005 with an outstanding education and lots of great experience. Annie Purl hired me to their Kindergarten Team after I completed my student teaching, where I grew with the nurturing of my fellow team mates. While I was sad to say good-bye to my friends at Purl I was excited to be part of the opening team at Mitchell Elementary, it was an amazing experience opening a new school with my Kindergarten team.
The Univseristy of Texas, Arlington conferred my Masters in Education Leadership Policies and Studies in December 2011. That journey has been extraordinary and I am thrilled to share those learning expereinces with my students. It's great to be a lifelong learner!
In the fall of 2013 I was extremely pleased to join the Cooper Elementary campus! I have taught Language Arts and Social Studies in 3rd grade on a unique journey for two years. The fall of 2015 I was welcomed to the 4th Grade team teaching the same subjects. It was a great surprise to my 3rd Graders from the previous year that I would be working with them again!
I married Mr. Bruce Spring of 2014, and we are happily living in Georgetown with our very lively family. We are active in local community events, Girl Scouting, Boy Scouting and making a difference by serving others. I love to read, play softball, camping and relaxing with my family.
The fall of 2016 brought me another new adventure joining the team at Richarte High School! I will be serving in many ways, ensuring that making the difference means BEING the difference!
