Participate in Helping Hands Across America Food Drive Through November 12th Imagine a food drive that raises four hundred thousand pounds of food in a single day. Now imagine all the good that much food could do for those living in poverty in the United States. GISD Nutrition Services invites you to help make this happen with the Helping Hands Across America event on Wednesday, November 12th, as Sodexo schools all across the country aim to break a world record for the largest 24 hour food drive in multiple locations by a non-charitable organization!
Not only will you be helping feed those in need and have the satisfaction of knowing that you have made a difference in someone’s life, but you will also have the unique opportunity to participate in a world record attempt.
Beginning now through November 12th, collection bins will be located at all GISD schools, Central Office at 603 Lakeway Drive, and GISD Support Services at 500 CR 104. Please be a part of this charitable event by donating non-perishable food items within their expiration dates such as canned soup, canned vegetables, canned fruits, and dried pastas.
Be a part of something as big as a world record, and as personal as feeding those who have nothing. With Sodexo USA’s Helping Hands Across America, you can make a world of difference, so please donate a non-perishable food item starting now through November 12th by 1:30 p.m. at all GISD schools, Central Office, and Support Services.
All food collected will be donated to The Caring Place in Georgetown.
