November is Generation Texas Month

All over Texas, students are finding their voices, setting goals, and taking steps toward securing their own successful futures as part of creating a movement called Generation Texas (GenTX). Our Georgetown ISD students are Generation TX, and they are what’s next for Texas. With the support of their school, family, and community, our students can become the most successful generation ever.

Generation Texas promotes messages that encourage students to explore post-secondary opportunities, apply to college, apply for financial aid, and recognize their future is worth it.  Georgetown ISD is promoting the GenTX movement in all schools through fun activities, lessons, theme-days, announcements, and GenTX challenges. The high schools have accepted the GenTX challenge to:

  • Increase ApplyTexas and FAFSA applicants and completions by 4% over the prior academic school year
  • Have every eligible student (seniors) in Texas complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) and an admission application through ApplyTexas to at least one institution of higher education
