GISD’s NJROTC Program is Open For New Registration

The NJROTC program has openings for students who want to challenge themselves at all grade levels at East View, Georgetown and Richarte High Schools. NJROTC counts as a PE or elective credit and GISD transportation is provided to the program site at EVHS. A student can be in NJROTC and a sport or band at the same time. NJROTC is primarily a citizenship development program that focuses on helping students to develop the discipline, confidence, maturity, character and leadership necessary to successfully meet life’s challenges. For 9th graders, it is a great place to get a great start in high school and for students at any grade level, a setting that supports reenergizing one’s commitment to excellence. In addition to the NJROTC classroom experience, cadets have opportunities to go on field trips, participate in community service projects and to compete against other schools on 7 different teams including Air Rifle and Physical Fitness.  Contact Chief Bowman at 512 943 1800 ext. 8229, Chief Gooseby at 512 943 1800 ext. 8230, Captain Gusman at  512 943 1800 ext. 8228 or your counselor to join now or for further information.
