PSAT Exam Dates for 8th and 9th Grade

PSAT8/9

December 1, 2016

College Board has adopted a new suite of assessments.  The PSAT 8/9 is a test that will help students and teachers determine areas of need in order to be college ready when students graduate from high school. It tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT and the PSAT/NMSQT. The PSAT 8/9 is the appropriate test offered by College Board for 8th and 9th grade students.  Georgetown Independent School District will provide the opportunity for any interested enrolled 8th or 9th grade student to participate in the administration of the PSAT 8/9.

Interested 8th and 9th grade enrolled students will be given the opportunity to test on December 1, 2016 at their home campus.  This is an optional testing opportunity for interested students. Students will be responsible for registration fee of $10.00, payable to the student’s home campus.  Please contact your home campus by October 20, 2016.

If you are a home schooled student who resides within Georgetown ISD boundaries and wish to take the PSAT 8/9, a registration form along with proof of residence to the GISD high school your home is zoned. Students will be responsible for registration fee of $10.00, payable to the student’s home campus.  Please register with your child’s home campus by October 20, 2016.

“Home schooled student” means a student who predominantly receives instruction in a general elementary or secondary education program that is provided by the parent, or a person standing in parental authority, in or through the child’s home. Only home schooled students may participate, which restricts this opportunity from being available to students enrolled in online charter schools.
